I mainly hide chocolate and lemonade. The lemonade so that I can have my archers and lemonade in the evening and the chocolate just because I don’t share chocolate with anyone. I’m finding it is the snack eating that is mainly our downfall. With the kids being at school most of the day, they only tend to have one thing when they get back from school. With being at home, it is a free for all!
  • Great news on the balance transfer card! It will make such a difference having that amount of the debt on 0%

@GeorgianaCavendish oh definitely!   I have Halifax savings accounts for the kids and my pension is with Scottish Widows. I registered for online banking with Halifax to keep my eye on this new card and the payments and the kids account and my pension were on there too! Bonus!  Just waiting for a new MBNA card to arrive so I can get the balance transfer done.

Balance transfer is done.  Just waiting for it all to process. I was trying to get onto the snowball calculator on whatsthecost but it wasn't playing today.

My car also wouldn't start today🙁 Thank God I have home start, luckily only a flat battery but I will need it replacing.

Click & collect order done. £80 which is much more in line with my usual budget which gives me hope next month can be a bit more back on track.

Had letter from 14yo's school about returning as he's year 10. Obviously for safety they are saying it will be an hour a week. I've completed a form to say he wont be back until after the summer as he's asthmatic  and prone to chest infections.

Hope everyone is safe and well.

A very quick post.  I managed to get onto whatsthecost snowball.  From my original one in Dec 19 to the one today I have knocked 18 months off the debt free date.  It's gone from June 2027 to Jan 2026.  I'm transferring them all onto spreadsheets so I can keep a record of them.

Thank you. I often read other peoples diaries, especially the ones who have paid off loads very quickly. I know it will take me longer but the quicker I can reduce it the better. I'm so determined to clear it which I've never really felt before.

At the moment I only have £3000 charging interest at 21.04% and £2,200 at 3.2%.  Oh and £245 at 15.5% but not counting this as this card will be cleared and closed this month.  The rest of it is on 0% for now. Hopefully the more I pay off and the more the debt goes down, I'll be offered more 0% balance transfers once my current offers end. The first 0% deal to end will be August 2021 so lots of time to reduce the debt down.
