Interesting, I have £3.55 in my Monzo account and the last few days they keep emailing me about getting an overdraft.  No thanks. 6 days to payday so no spending for me.

MrM and I will both be in the office for 3 days in March so I have arranged a dog sitter for puppy. 16yo's friend who is studying animal care and dog mad. £75 that needs budgeting for in March.

The search for a car is ongoing. Have seen a couple on autotrader but one I like the look of is in Dagenham but I can't get there. It's too far away. 😖

  • I used to wear heels all the time until I got dog, but then I had to have good grips (not that it stopped me landing on my face a lot, she’s strong). Now I just dust them off for rare outings without her.
Banks don’t miss a trick do they! It’s like they are egging us on to spend money we don’t have. Like the stupid credit ratings, the less you owe and borrow the worse they get…ridiculous!

Yesterday I treated myself to a St*bucks as MrM's football was called off and I could go out! I had £2.96 on my store app so bought a tea for £2.45 put my earphones in and listened to my audio book. Bliss.

Doggo chewed the tv remote in the night after 16yo left it within reach. I've ordered another from Virgin. I thought we might have to pay for it but it was free so a pleasant surprise there.

@WinterWarrior re the banks and your credit score, if you are sure you won't need anything on credit debt I would not care about it.
However if there is a slight chance how good are you at discipline?
You could have a cleared card and literally just use it to purchase your fuel for example or maybe your shopping at a SM that accepts these type of cards but only put £20 on it, then pay it off when you get home.
If you have a mortgage I wouldn't worry about any card. Its your paying record that is looked at.
I would  have been lost without them years ago so don't get me wrong about it, they serve a very good purpose.

  • It really annoys me the way banks try to egg people on into debt. It's the reason I got into debt as an 18 year old - got a credit card, and the bank kept upping the limit. went into OD and they increased the limit on THAT, too. They did eventually waive some charges on the basis that they shouldn't have kept giving me more credit, and of course there are restrictions on how much they can do that these days, but they still act irresponsibly to my mind.

I agree @EssexHebridean they know what they're doing offering the OD. If I was desperate I could easily have accepted it and got into a deeper hole.
