JSA: Will I be sanctioned?

  • You should be but unfortunately I suspect you won't be.
What a horrible thing to say. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

    Really? Why?

I've never been ashamed of telling the truth.

Why? He is right. The OP turned down a great opportunity of a job with a very poor reason

Go on then, make me see reason. Why should I be ashamed of myself?

There is no way OP will get sanctioned. It was a temporary assignment that came to an end. They will not know about not applying for the permanent job.
Unless of course one of the people on the long distribution list was one of the JSA advisors if they advertised the temporary posts through them.
  • You weren't claiming JSA while doing the job, so you cannot be sanctioned.

After you have been out of work for over 1 year (some say 6 months), you no longer have a 'field'.

Saying you didnt enjoy the job is stupid, you are not there to enjoy your job, you are there to do a job in return for money. The unprofessional excuse is rubbish and just an excuse, get your own business and have your managers approach people directly, till then, take it as it comes.

I do a job where I'm in warmth, seated at a desk on a PC, nice and comfy BUT before that I was doing donkey work in warehouses to cleaning toilets on airplanes, all the while, trying to better myself and get qualifications to go into my chosen field. If I was like you only wanting fun jobs or jobs that met my expected level of professionalism I have no doubt I'd be on JSA and doing the same type of work for periods in between.

As said by the person above, you SHOULD be sanctioned but you'll probably get away with it.
  • Your opinion of the OP's actions is irrelevant and wasn't asked for. The fact is that you cannot be sanctioned if you are not claiming JSA.
