Dear All,
Would it be at all possible to find out from the LA the history of council tax payments going back in time and in particular the name of the individual that paid it. This is for a property I own.
Do let me know

They'd tell you only if you paid it or you were jointly liable at the time.
Any particular reason why ? Are you trying to find out who was resident ?

Residency is a funny issue - in theory the council shouldn't tell you, as the owner, anything more than you already know about it regarding tenants otherwise the DPA can be breached. Some councils will discuss names etc with the landlord, some won't.
They may have registered to vote on the public roll so you can sometimes find the details that way.
