0% offer ending

Hello,

I am coming to the end of a 0% money transfer on my Halifax credit card in about 3 weeks. Already I have a loan and can comfortably afford to make a repayment on both the card and loan monthly. I have never missed a payment.

I also have a mortgage which is due for a review. I am in the process of remortgaging, searching for a better offer. My fear is that I have always maintained a very good credit but do not want to jeopardise my chances of getting a remortgage offer due to credit utilisation. I am on about 90% of my credit limit on one card.

Another issue is that I need to payback £8,000 before the 0% offer elapses.

Halifax CC - £15,000 money transfer
Of which - £10,000 money transfer 0% offer ends soon

Capital One CC - £5,000 in credit

Bank Loan - £16,000

I am worried and not sure what my options are. Take out an additional loan or do a balance transfer to the CC in credit?

Please help.

Why not just ask for the cash from Cap one and pay it off the other card?

Don't go applying for loans if you're remortgaging. A BT credit card application, possibly. Depends how close you are to remortgaging.

On a wider note, you've got a bucket load of debt there, Are you actively paying it down?

Thanks zx81, Cap One do not do money transfer.

Applying for a BT CC could lower my credit score, that is my fear.

I do have a huge balance - 15k + 16k. I always pay above my minimum but probably because I kept going back for more money transfer from the CC for part of loft conversion.

I have never defaulted on my repayments on any of my credits or mortgage and always tried to maintain a good credit.

You don't need a money transfer. You phone them up and ask them to send you a cheque or transfer into your account.

You don't have a credit score. Just a credit file.
  • That is helpful. Thanks.
  • Hiya,

I'm pretty sure that if you remortgage with the same bank they don't credit or affordability check you. S4ntand3r didn't check me last time (thank god!:rotfl:)
