Vivus - Readdress Offer seems poor

As ive set out on a path of financial freedom from payday loans ive had in the past, i've crossed out a couple already, Vivus replied to my complaint about unaffordability etc but i don't think i'm all too happy with it, as below

which means i owe them £8.51, whilst obviously not a bad payment to make to get rid of these guys - they arnt on my credit file so i'd be happy to pursue this abit, i would of be of the understanding they should of waved interest and charges + 8% meaning they should really be owing me money and not the other way round?

Hi,
They have settled your complaint in full, what more where you expecting ?
They have refunded interest and charges, and added 8% simple interest, that's the most they are obliged to do.

Don't forget that you are responsible for choosing to borrow the money in the first place so you are lucky to get refunded all interest and charges.
Also considering that your complaint basically says they should have checked you could afford the loan before they gave it to you. Maybe you should add a note to your credit file so it won't happen again in future. Something like "I am unable to determine if I can afford credit before I apply for it so please take this into consideration in all future applications".
All these kind of complaints do is make it more and more difficult for people to get credit because people are blaming lenders for giving them loans they applied for!. Ridiculous!0 -
Hi
Not wishing to sound rude, I'd say don't cut your nose of to spite your faceis £8.51 worth all the stress and time?
Pay the £8.51 and settle up which is a small price to pay for having one debt off your shoulders....
Well done for getting the £281.49:T
Good Luck what ever you do.

To be honest, the reversal, i.e interest and charges waived and plus 8%? maybe that was wishful thinking and thinking about it, the offer of basically £8 to wipe away this debt seems good enough, i agree Sam, they are only really abit of smallfry on my debt mess and whatever stops me talking to MMF Debt has to be a bonus.
Takman - i agree don't get me wrong, at this point of time though i was in a whole messy debt spiral of 12 payday loans at once, more my fault than others but luckily 4 (now) years on, i am in a really good credit position for the first time in years, i won't ever make the same mistakes again.0 -
Take it, You'll spend many, many hours arguing the point, but only a few minutes making a bank transfer. Once you factor in your time to the equation, it's a no-brainer.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
