Hello strangers, I'm back....

I used to be totally addicted to this forum but then I think I let things slip a bit and stopped coming on here. Well I've decided to start visiting again and hopefully try and get back on track, my debt hasn't really increased since I was previously on here, but then it hasn't particularly gone down dramatically so instead of going around in circles I've decided to come back and give it all another go.

I will go through my finances later, but for the time being I thought I'd say hi and all that. So, hi.

SMx

  • Cheers, I'm determined that the time is now for me to get my self sorted on track...

I've drafted a little list of things I can focus on to help me get started as I mean to go on:

    * Cut out the rubbish! I spend money on lunch, bits here and bits there which is all a total waste and unnecessary, so I'm going to only carry a small amount of cash with me and resist all temptations of buying lunch, not going in to town at lunch time and going straight home after work rather than going via the supermarket.

    * Sell some stuff! We have an electronic notice board at work and I'm going to use that to sell various bits and pieces - I've done this before and been quite successful. I've sold via ebay before but its a lot more faff and I have to worry about postage etc. I've already post up 4 items so starting well and we are going to go through our huge CD collection tonight and see what we can get shot of.

    * Think! Think about what I'm spending my money on, I was never very successful at keeping a spending diary, but I think if I just think a bit more before I purchase something then I'll probably save heaps!

    * Honesty! I think I need to be more honest with my better half about what I'm buying and spending my cash on....I think if I did this then it would help me realise that I need to get a grip!

Anyway, will see how I get on. Any advice/suggestions/words of encouragement greatfully received!
