Difference between dry cleaning & washing??

Options
Hi all,

I have a double sleeping bag that has been camping with us twice so now needs a good old clean - it cost a few bob so I'd like to look after it properly.

Now, it won't fit in my washer and we don't have a launderette in town but we DO have a dry cleaner.
So, my question is, is dry cleaning as good (will it get it as clean?) as a 'wet wash with soap'?

Or should I make the effort & take it to a launderette out of town?

If anyone has any advice it would be most appreciated...

Thanks folks...

I can't say which would be better - but doesn't it have a wash/care label? Always best to do whatever they advise.

Another thing is to use a sleeping bag liner inside - that way you can just wash the liner each time it's used (much easier to dry too!) - if you can't find them in your local camping shop, they are very easy to make using an old sheet. Any dirt on the outside of the sleeping bag can be allowed to dry, brushed off and anything remaining just sponged off.

Hope that's of some use to you :rotfl: .

What a fab idea - didn't know they even existed - I will endeavor to find one before our next camping trip - thanks....
