Bankruptcy and EE

Hi all, I have posted on this before but there seems to be some mixed opinions on it, and frankly I can't find the original thread so can't remember the outcome, so here we go again
I was declared BR in October last year, since then I have merrily continued with my EE phone contract (which also includes an iPad) without any questions asked. The contract expires this month and technically I will be due an upgrade, or the cheaper option to go sim only.
My understanding is that neither option will trigger a credit check, can I clarify this is the case with anyone with direct experience with EE? If there is any risk of this I would prob be inclined to do nothing a I can't really deal with the hassle of it all, I have a busy time ahead and I need to really focus on other matters- however if there is no risk I might be tempted to get a better phone or go sim only, both preferable to the current status quo
Thanks in advance

Sim only is pretty low risk to them, so if they do check it may not be an issue. A new contract phone is a bigger risk, so if they check it will be an issue. I'd personally go sim only until your discharged0

During my bankruptcy my 2 year contract came to an end so I dropped to a sim only with them as I was waiting for the new iPhone 7 to come on, all went through fine and I also got approved for an upgrade when the iPhone did come out,0

thanks both
Steven to clarify that was with EE, and were you still pre-discharge when you did upgrade?0 -
I guess different customers get different deals so you may not find a definitive answer. I had 2 contracts with Orange/EE - I had never ever missed a payment in 15 years and stayed with them thought-out BR with no problem. When upgrade time came (undischarged)- I had no problems with that either. I don't believe they did a credit check but maybe they did and just thought I was a good enough customer to keep.0

I had no problems with EE while undischarged. I was due an upgrade and opted for a pay monthly sim only plan from full contract and it was all fine.
From what others have said, upgrades aren't credit checked.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
SPC 9 (2016) #485 TOTAL £84
SPC 10 (2017) # 485 TOTAL: £464.80
SPC 11 (2018) #4850 -
Hi london
I declared BR in Sept and my phone smashed (toddlers!) and therefore I spoke to my provider (3 network) and explained I'd recently gone BR but wanted/needed an upgrade! They had no problems upgrading me. I'm sure it's fine - as long as you tell them up front, so if they do a CC they are already aware.0
