Dangerous windows at work !

My job involves teaching autistic adults music. The activity room at my workplace has windows covering an area of approximately 20'x10'. The frames of the windows are completely rotten and you can poke a biro right through every frame. The landlord has sent someone to look at the frames...but like most things in our company...it takes forever for something to ever get done. In our music sessions we have at least ten adults and staff in the room. I have grave concerns over the safety of everyone if something gives way. Is there any where I can call to speed things up in getting new windows put in ? My concerns are falling on deaf ears.

Is this a commercial premises?0

I suppose it is. It's a day centre. It's rented off a landlord Monday to friday and has been open around 10 years.0

Children's services also use it on Saturdays0

Is the landlord a local authority?Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

In which case there needs to be a regular safety assessment, So I'd suggest asking for the last one.
(although more logically would be to use another venue)0 -
Landlord is private not a local authority...moving to a new building isn't an option0

I think all you can do is raise the issue formally in writing with senior management of the organisation you are working for. Once that is done it will apply pressure on them to get something done because if they don't, and there is then an incident involving the windows, they could be in deep .....0

Can you put a bit of MDF across the dangerous windows? Or chicken wire?0

Thanks Tellit01 I will do that. The windows will cave in if we have a major storm they are that bad...just hope there's no one in there when they do.0
