Hi everyone! great to see I'm not alone in my juggling act!!

One thing i can absolutely recommend is the Lakeland heated dryer. I rave about it to everyone!! Although a bit expensive initially (circa £100) it really is handy. I put a load of washing on when I'm making the evening meal. then hang it up on the dryer before bed (sometimes I do two loads!). The dryer does its magic overnight, and I have a dried load of washing and a lovely warm room to get up to. Fantastic in the winter, and I honestly cant do without it. Things don't get creased and can get put away in the morning. In fact I often just pop on my jeans I had on the day before, but are now newly washed!!

Oh and ive also just invested in a slowcooker book (which seemingly doesn't need too much prep!) to cut down on time spent on my evening meal....the hope is that if I have dinner already hot and available for hubby, I can go for a run / pilates!

Hi ladies, how have your weeks been? Even though I only work three days, I'm still glad it's Friday!

We have been naughty and had a takeaway for dinner tonight but we are allowing ourselves a treat at the weekends. I have made dinners every night this week and will do at the weekend too.

Got a couple of washings to catch up on this weekend- I try not to bother with too much housework on my working days.

I am off work for the next couple of weeks and hope to do a bit of a deep clean in the house, take some bags to the charity shop, sort the spare room etc.

Does anyone follow a set routine for cleaning the bathroom/hoovering etc? Or just wing it like me? I need to be a bit more organised with these things and maybe I'd feel more in control!

    Have a good weekend,
    Weesmiler x

    Hi everyone ,

My week has been busy and I haven't really been up to too much apart from working. Our work on the house commences on Monday so tomorrow will be spent decluttering and sorting out bits and bobs.

Regarding a cleaning schedule, I tend to do it as and when and wherever i can fit it in. I definitely need to get more organised with this.

Hi all, hope you are all well and not too frazzled !!

I'm having a good cleaning session today after work so I can have a bit of me time tomorrow !!

One of the things I do to make the chores less of a chore is to time things to coincide with my fav progs on radio 4 so I''ll wash up at 7.00 to catch the Archers or have a batch cooking session when a good drama is on !! I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but a good audio book on the K****le might help too !!

Have a good weekend everyone !!

Unfortunately this week has been a write off :(, but as the saying goes tomorrow is a brand new day. I'm not at work for the rest of the week, so I'm aiming to "crack" on with a few things around the house.

The work from last Monday is now finished, we have the workmen and decorator here again next week and the last job will be done mid-feb. I'm hoping baby holds on in there until all the work is finished, fingers crossed!

I hope everyones week is going well :).
  • Hi guys. Single working mum here too. I also balance looking after small grandchild on my days off, (to give my daughter a break (she's only 18)), and some batchcooking for her and clothes washing. She doesn't live with me, but feels like she still does! So my own priorities and chores etc have began to slide (though I was never great at them to begin with). I scrape alongwith basic meal plannkng and do try to do the get the tea onthego as soon as I come in rule. The only day I don't do this is a Tuesday when i am in late and so DD can have anything easy or what needs using.

You working full time mums are a credit to your kids and partners/husbands, as it is hard enough doing a part-time job coupled with homelife aswell, let alone a full time one. My hours can vary from anything as little as 18 to 30, depending on staff levels and times of the year.
