My partner and I are looking to buy a house together. We both have 2 children each that live with us part time as they also live with their other parents. I dont pay any child maintenance for my 2 and my partner receives maintenance for hers.
So my quesiton is do we declare 2 or 4 depandancies when we apply for a joint mortgage as none of them live with us full time?

It will vary, you could argue that the maintenance means they are not dependent on you or use the maintenance as a form of income.
As an example, I did a case in November where the applicant had 3 kids who lived with him 3 days a week none of which were financially dependent on him in the eyes of the lender.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
