Ok I'll answer it.
Frankly you need to take anything you can get. I wouldn't expect anything more than minimum wage and even then you'd be lucky. Given your circumstances if you were applying at my place you'd be pretty much last on the list of people I'd hire, except maybe someone with multiple convictions for fraud/theft. You've no work experience and your old, therefore someone will have to put effort into training you up only for you to retire in a few years.
I agree with the other posters, care work sounds like the best bet.

One of previous employers would 1000% take on OP if they scrubbed up well for an interview, but only really around xmas time as a temp. They would retain OP if they were any good. That job was min wage and high turnover, so they wouldn't be bothered about having just a few years' use out of OP.
But yep, you are right! Min wage jobs are the key here. Lots knocking around if you look hard enough!
