Started a diary ages ago,but it fell by the wayside.
This is a new one. Hoping it will help me.
Be warned it may contain worries and obsessions of mine. I tend to be an overthinker so may over analyse situations,
Need to put things down to clear my head and make sense of things. Am hoping a diary will assist me to concentrate and focus
Phew that's all for now.
Things to sort tomorrow
Look at a bank account and credit card for hubbie. He is self employed, but uses his personal credit card for business purchases. Has a paid for business account but is a sole trader so looking for an ordinary account. This will reduce the stress with me having to sort out our finances. Makes it a whole lot simpler. I usually tear my hair out trying to get it balanced. It's too complicated and means that we are currently subsidising his business. I want it to run separately. OH not so good at budgeting and finance so falls to me to sort it out.
Fresh start with YNAB.
Also work through my overeating and keep up with regular exercise.

Hello Mrs Boo Boo!
You're in good company, I too am an over-thinker and a worrier.
It is a good idea to have a separate bank account for the business - I opened a normal bank account online (was a Sole Trader) and everything went in there. It gave good clarity to where I was.

Wow thanks fellow MSErs for you replies of support. Didn't expect anyone replying.
I'm a bit of a lurker normally and whilst I dip in and out of other diaries I am not at all consistent.
Well hubbie suggested that he use the credit card he already has with his business account and has never used. He can't find his original card so has promised me he will go to the bank and get one ordered. Result.
Not much time to update YNAB. Have made a fresh start. Need to populate it a bit more.
However in MSE style have made a turkey, ham and mushroom pie which we had this evening with veg left over from Christmas, nearly the last of the sprouts. Also 5 small leek and turkey pies for the freezer. I love cooking, but get caught up every day leaving less time to get things done.Hopefully this will free up some more. The leftover cheese is the next challenge.
Took my friend's pony out for a spin. The weather was cold but really sunny. He loved it and was full of beans despite being 28. I ride once a week and get him in at night when she is working late.
Have the week off this week so lots to do. Aerobics class at 7 then take car to garage MOT and exhaust. A friend is popping over later.
Overeaten tonight due to tiredness. Chocolate and biscuits. Need to stop at main meal. Am attempting to eat when hungry and stop when full. I can do the first mostly, but not second.
Plan this week
Make door curtain for lounge (Have already made curtains for window each side).
List Christmas cards received ready for list this year
Make Christmas cards
Make present labels
Determined to get organised for Christmas 2017. It's always a mad rush and stressful. I always forget Christmas includes going out and celebrating too, leaving precious time to actually get ready for it.
Get to grips with my finances!!!!
More to follow0 -
Well well well.
Managed to get to the gym at 7am after scraping the ice off my windscreen,a workout in itself. Good routine, only 3 of us there. Don't think many people like an early workout. May pick up soon with the January rush.Dropped car off and walked home. Beautiful sunrise and hard frost.
A friend came round and we put the world to rights.
Car still in garage. Dread to think how much it will cost tomorrow. Failed the MOT due to a brake line and needed exhaust and bushes replaced. Am so reliant on my car for my job it needs to be done. Better to be safe than sorry. Had to replace both front light bulbs a few days ago too.
Good news. Meter read and direct debit has been reduced by £4 a month. Refund of £37.48 due.
Gradually updating YNAB. Not looking very good, but we'll get there. At least I won't have to buy much food this month. Have worked out how much we spend on birthday and Christmas pressies eek!!!! We don't have any children ourselves but buy for OHs nephew and nieces children 9 plus God children and nephews. It soon ads up. Getting on for £1000.00 a year. May be able to save some money as my nephews have not thanked me for the money I gave them for birthday and Christmas, so they can do without this year. They are old enough (17 & 19) to know better.
Not as much as I planned, but am determined to get an early night. Start again tomorrow.
OH has contacted bank for a card so have explained he needs to use this for business purposes. May also need to have a spending limit. He currently takes money out of his business account, but I haven't seen any for months now!!! Think this is where we are going wrong. OH is not mean or controlling with money, he's an ostrich and not as savvy as me. He likes to keep money in his account for materials and sometimes has to pay for them before he gets paid for a job. Am gradually educating him on how to manage his finances.
New day tomorrow.
Crack on.
Have noticed I tend to over eat in the evening when I am tired. Not much hope as night sweats wake me up at least 3 times a night.0 -
Well managed to unpick curtains and sew again. Have run out of lining so need to buy some more tomorrow. Feel motivated to get it done now. Have a new sewing machine so makes it better.
Have transferred money from OHs account so feel a bit more in control. Couldn't work out YNAB!!! Then realised I'd put my wages in the wrong column. Much better process.
Car in garage for another day. Collected it,but bill to follow.
Lunch with friends tomorrow has been cancelled. Another day free to get curtain finished.
Just got back from gym. CX worx and body balance. Eating last piece of turkey pie. Stilton quiche tomorrow. Grated cheddar and put in freezer to use later on. Turkey stock labelled and in freezer. Still lots of food to use up so hopefully grocery bill will be low this month.
Need to buy a pressie for OHs great neice asparty on Sunday. Also finish card.
Off to bed now.
Night Night0 -
You're doing very well with achievements there and nicely organised with Christmas planning too!
I go to Body Balance too, some back surgery years ago means I have to avoid impact workouts - BB is perfect in that respect. I'm glad they don't run those classes at 7am though - well done for going in the cold and scraping your screen.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Thanks for your support Ali-OK. Yes absolutely love Body Balance, especially the relaxation at the end. It's non competitive and you go at your own pace. Wasn't too keen on the last release though. Too much on the knees if you wanted to complete a lower level. The new one is much better. Going to miss it as I have signed up for a 10 week introduction to counselling course. May be able to attend the weekend class instead.
Been a bit spendy over the last two days. Went to get curtain lining as unluckily need a length more. Bought three birthday pressies though. Some luxury shampoo and conditioner for 2 friends and a fairy kit for the 6 year old on Sunday. Luckily both OH and didn't go overboard which is easy to do.
Spent a bit more today, but managed to get the rest of pressie on Sunday. Lots of toiletries and sweets. Bought underwear and make up. Used top up card with scheme at work. I think I saved 10% which is better than nothing. It's the little things.
First run of the year with a friend. Luckily it was dry. Managed, but tend to find a first run after a lull is ok it's the consecutive ones which are tougher.
Have updated YNAB
Not made Christmas cards yet.
Need to make a menu plan to stop stockpiling and use up Christmas food.0 -
Reasonable day today.
Went the hygienist. All ok. Already paid £25.00 so £15 left.
Browsed the charity shops. Bought 4 tops for £10 and 2 packs of Christmas cards for £4.00.
Felt a bit guilty at spending money. Perhaps this is a backlash towards saving money. Got to have a bit of leeway somewhere.
Went to the tip and got rid of 13 tubs of rubble. Had to pay,but at least it is now out of our hair. Chose a few sample tiles for the kitchen. Luckily OH and myself have the same taste so it wasn't difficult.
Oops got a text from OH niece asking where we were today. Got the day wrong and missed the party. Going to see them next Sunday when we are over SIL.
Free day tomorrow. Will attempt to make headway on curtain. Have ironed uniforms for work. Need to do meal plan and make sure I have something to eat on Weds for evening course.
Plan for supervision at work on Monday.
Christmas cards will have to wait for now. Tend to make a to do list much too long and then feel disappointed when I don't complete it all. Must remember.
'Just enough is good enough'0 -
No spend day today.
Took my friend's pony out for a ride this morning. Luckily weather cleared and we didn't get wet. He loves to go out.
Came back and made a meal plan, yippie. Beef mince in slow cooker. So have cottage pie, spag bol and chilli.Smoked mackeral pate for sandwiches. Cut up melon for lunches this week. My main aim is to use up stuff I have in the freezer and cupboards. Don't really need to stockpile too much. Like the challenge of making something out of nothing and not wasting food. Have made a small shopping list.
No progress on curtain but managed to sort out training for work, pay for a craft stall, make a fruit crumble and custard . Got OH to wrap birthday pressie. He's also hoovered the house without asking.
Not washing drying weather so launderette tomorrow. Some by the woodburner at the moment.
Waiting for hunger is getting there, but not able to stop when satisfied. Extending mealtimes. Not sleeping well so eating when tired to feel better. Has coffee yesterday and didn't sleep as well last night. Awake in the early hours. No glass of wine either. Work tomorrow.
Have recently started reading the frugal queen blog which has some great ideas.0
