Wow I am in awe at your low groceries spend!

Ooh, I feel bad - I also transfer £500 to my OH (included in the ' bills ' bit as he does most of the shopping...

Well that makes me feel a little better about mine :rotfl:
  • £50 spent today on two training sessions - the first tonight and the next one in two weeks as next week I have 2 very late evenings of parents evenings. Feeling good but like I worked hard. Have lost a stone since the start of this process (8 kilos). People are starting to notice which is nice.

I'm hoping to get 5 NSDs in a row from today - Saturday we're at friends for lunch and then back home so shouldn't need to buy anything :)

If you don't mind me asking, how have you lost weight? Have you followed a plan or cut back (tbh I'd probably lose tonnes if I wasn't teaching! Maybe that's the solution!)

Hello Skint Teacher. As your thread appears to be a record of your journey to debt freedom I wonder if it would be more suited to the Debt Free Diaries section. You are doing really well by the way.

    I don't mind at all...
Basically, I've cut out all crap - so no cakes, biscuits, crisps, chocolate, sweets at all.
I've also cut out most dairy and tea and coffee - wasn't really planning to but went off them when I started eating healthier food for some reason.
Apart from that, I'm having a small breakfast (200 to 300 calories) of either soya yoghurt, muesli and fruit with a glass of almond milk or peanut butter on toast. I had a cup of boiled water when I get to school.
Lunch is salad - chunky stuff so it fills me up. I have carbs on a Wednesday so I don't collapse for training.
    Snacks - banana or apple
Dinner - less carbs but apart from that the same as we normally have (stuff like casserole, curry, fish, garlic chicken etc)
Hope that's helpful! I am having a max of 1600 calories a day and it seems to be dropping the weight off pretty quickly.
I also walk the 20 mins to walk each morning. :A

Thanks! I shall investigate when I get a bit of time at half term - and I thought I was in exactly the right place :rotfl:

Hi. It's a fine line actually. You are in the right place to ask for advice/help, this is where it all starts. I was thinking if your journey is going to take a whole year then it becomes a dairy. If there are too many long drawn out threads on the first page in here, it limits the space for new posters to come it.

If you have got the time the other alternative would be to write a blog about your debt free journey, there are lots of people who do it. That would probably give you lots of motivation to stick with it.

  • Right! I'm heading over to debt free diaries - hopefully see some of you there! It'll still be 2017- my frugal year:beer: cheers and thanks for reading
