We have just ordered a new kitchen..and it has a breakfast bar and has been knocked through to the dining room so I will have 4 less cupboards where these features now are. So I will have to declutter my cupboards. I hate stuff on the worktops but shove it out of sight into the cupboards, this will have to change. We have a skip outside at the moment so DH has just emerged from the attic shaking his head saying that to get all the stuff in there that needs removing from the attic we will need to tell the builders to get a 2nd skip!!

De-cluttering my kitchen is defo a job i need to tackle. I have so many things i want to get rid of, those must have gadets that get used once or twice. I have a mountain on tupperware, my Hubs hates them, lids everywhere, i think this may well be my job for next weekend.

Thanks for giving me the nudge i needed

Me too Pixie, and if I had a utility room I think I'd be in heaven :D

After the advice given by other posters, I managed to reclaim 3 kitchen drawers (there's only 4 in the house barring bedroom drawers), so that was a big bonus. Added to that was a heap of paperwork that needed sorting :o (stuffed in the said drawers lol) but it's all been sorted now! No more hunting around for utility bills and bank statements, they've all been filed away.

Somehow or other I clicked on a thread that had some Old Stylers kitchens on show, and even though it locked the pc up  lol, it still made me want to go and rearrange a few things.

Good luck with it all :), I'm off to see what I can do with a spare bedroom that looks like an explosion in a library :o;) and find my Really Useful Box, that's not useful at all :D

Just been looking at the pics of the house we're hoping for, it actually looks like there are only 7, and 2 of those are half size :( oh no......only one drawer aswell, I have 3 now, oh heck! Sacrifice will be worth it, for a dishwasher! Half the bench space too which houses the breadmaker, slow cooker etc etc.

Add to Soda's list half of kleeneze's gadgets, pasta maker, mincer, food dehydrator, grilling machine, double the pans at least, more bakeware and pyrex of course, plus more and I don't want to part with any of it :( but I know I must!
One day I might be more organised...........

Just ordered some more wall cupboards for my kitchen.......
  • Hiya All ,
Read through this forum last night, and decided I would have to make a start on my kitchen. But would only do 1-2 cupboards at a time.
So after dropping little 1s to school, and then having the usual morning chats :coffee: with friends, I came home.

I then have spent the past 1-2 hrs doing:-

    - Cleaning and Clearing all kitchen sides.
    - Wash and Put away all pots.
    - Emptied 3 Kitchean Cupbourds which all have 3 shelves that were filled with mostly food; Tins, Cans, Bottles, Packets, Jars, Boxes, Menus, aswell as bits of odds and Sods that have been put in quickly :shhh: over the past year since I last de-cluttered.
Now everything is on the kitchean sides !
So I have just quickly looked through this thread and a few "organised" websites for added advise to help me through out.

I am now going to clean all shelves after finishing writing this thread, and then start putting the stuff back.
    :T
Im determined to be ruthless, so fingers crossed.

  • Well done everyone! I have been inspired to go (after finished on here) and get rid of all the stuff i dont use!

    Hi lil_me :)

Was that a picture of your future kitchen that was posted elsewhere - a red one? I'd put a link in but I can't find it :o but if it is, were those drawers deep drawers?
