The prize is a bespoke, expert-led 12-day trip to Burma: After a flight from the UK to Mandalay, the winner and their companion will tour the city’s highlights and its surrounding regions. The itinerary then heads to Heho and its bustling craft markets before taking in the iconic Inle Lake. A day trip to the Indein Pagoda will be followed by a transfer to Bagan and its rural village outskirts. With horse cart rides, quaint tea shops and atmospheric temples, it’s a million miles away from modern life. A day trip to Npa Han explores the incredible caves and rock formations of the area before the tour heads to charming Mawlamyine. The final days in Myanmar are spent exploring some of its cultural highlights: the palm lined streets of Bilu Island are the perfect end to this Burmese experience.
The prize includes: return flights (*see note below); Excursions as described; Transport within Burma; Guesthouse accommodation; Breakfast everyday.
*Return flights: A reimbursement of up to £700 per person for the purchase of flights to Mandalay. International flights must be bought by the winner – TravelLocal is not a member of ATOL so cannot provide international flights. TravelLocal is a member of ABTA so all arrangements in Burma have full financial protection. If you do not require flights no credit or discount will be possible. To receive the reimbursement the winner must send a receipt for the flights to TravelLocal. If the flights to Burma cost more than £700 per person the difference must be paid by the winner.
The prize does not include: Meals outside of those stated; Travel insurance; Visa fees; Transport to and from UK airports; Tips and gratuities.
All other expenses are the responsibility of the prize winner/s.
Winners are responsible for arranging their own valid passports, travel insurance and any necessary visa or health requirements.
Prize fulfilment dates can be booked from the 1st April to 31st October.
Once a booking has been made, within a minimum four weeks of departure, and confirmation provided to the prize winner, no further changes to the booking are allowed. No upgrades permitted. The prize cannot be exchanged for a cash alternative or an alternative destination. The prize is non-transferable.
