happkitties you’ll appreciate this story.
I was in Sainsbury’s and saw some men’s Star Wars socks, which I thought I’d buy for OH, as it’s his birthday soon (were 25% off as well). When I got home, i didn’t realise I dropped them as I was going up the stairs. I was hiding some other presents I’d bought for the children, so I was keeping an ear out in case anyone came upstairs. Well, I hear DS say ‘daddy, are these socks for me’. Totally giving the game away. So I had to give them to OH.
Speaking of OHs birthday, I bought him s bottle of spirits, which was £10 off, so I’m pleased with that. I’m giving him money for his birthday as he wants to buy some clothes, but I’m still getting him a few items from the children.0 -
Welcome LadyMortica, it's a great little thread with some cracking ideas. I used the travel wallet idea from Chanie this year and even where Chanie got them from as the designs are unique and lovely. My niece had hers early as a landmark birthday present, it went down really well.
Some brilliant magazine sub ideas from Katiehound aswell.
That is so typical Chanie something that would have happened to me. S*d's law that one, esp when u have OH birthday before Christmas aswell. I wanted to pick your brains. Can I ask what have you got your new niece for Christmas please?
My cousin has had a baby girl. My cousin is my DDs godfather so always buy something, have bought a couple of outfits to send, and a baby grow and some baby wipes to go in a Christmas gift bag, just thinking what other bits as cousin and his wife also have a 1 year old so a lot of bits they will already have in.
Was putting presents in another gift bag last night. I had wrapped both of the cocktail baubles sets for my DD so ended up rewrapping one for my sis in law and ended up cutting the little ribbon holder at the top. Very frustrating. I just pulled the ribbon out and my sis in law won't notice and wouldn't hold the baubles by the ribbon anyway but frustrating. Did think of swapping them over with DDs as DD def won't notice but in the end left them as I think the soap and glory gift we have got her will be the highlight present. They are going away for Christmas so I'm not sure whether we are having a get together before Christmas or after, but at least everything is good to go if at least they suddenly decide before. Determined to be prepared.Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Today posted my travel insurance claim form- 6 pages of forms to fill in + 10 other sheets! Fingers crossed as this was a whole heap of spondoolies.... and last I heard the claims firm were up to their eyes with claims concerning: Monarch, fires, hurricanes, French traffic controllers strikes and Ryanair!- so might be some kinda delay!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Katie I hope your claim gets settled soon
Happykitties I bought DN a stocking with her name on it. I have bought all of my other DNs (both genders) their stockings so I wanted to do the same for the latest edition. The stockings get filled by Dsis, so they are more than just a keepsake.
How annoying about your baubles. I looked at mine to see where the ribbon was and I doubt SIL will notice.0 -
Katiehound I hope your claim goes through okay and without any difficulties, sounds a nightmare:(
Chanie their grandparents have bought the other 2 stockings but u did lead me on to a train of thought. I kept thinking about how special the stocking would be and what could I get that would be as special. Then thought I'm going to Prague next month, I will bring back a special bauble:T which then led me to remember that we did buy a special bauble for their eldest, so we are going on the bauble idea. Got there in the end, especially when we are going to get gingerbread to tie on the gift bags of their 2 other children so should balance out well. Thought process went round the houses but I know they will appreciate the bauble:j!!!
Talking of baubles, I'm seeing those cocktail baubles everywhere now:eek:
My Clubcard vouchers came thru, haven't got much but have decided to use them to get spiced rum for DD boyfriend. Didn't know how this relationship would pan out as they have only been together less than 6 months and my DD taste in previous boyfriends have been.......interesting :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:so current one wasn't on my list. Going to get that tomorrow after the hospital and get it wrapped tomorrow night.
Going on the look out tomorrow for boxes ready for those presents that need to be sent. I like to get them prepared as I like to pop a letter in with each of them so takes me a few days as I hate doing parcels
Feel in full Christmas mode now......even the puddings have been bought-roulades that are being stored at mine or they won't see December with DM:D:rotfl::rotfl:Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mum 2 One your holiday sounds like fun. It’s always a result when you get told off for a bit of cheeky speeding.
I picked up two presents today, plus I’m hoping to get one more this weekend. Am pleased with my progress recently.0 -
I was really looking forwards to a catch up on here but MSE seems to be playing up for me so I will have to return tomorrow, I'm struggling to write even this short post. Hope you're having a good day0

Never got the spiced rum with the Clubcard vouchers but did get a cereal advent calender for DD to take back to uni with her:rotfl::rotfl::eek:.
I managed to get my boxes yesterday, perfect size aswell:T
Took a trip out to the local garden centre yesterday, I had already seen their displays although they weren't fully out when I went to order the turkey.
Ended up treating myself to a few bits. I love light and lighting. Fell in love with this wooden tree with small delicate lights and sparkles, and a small lantern which was twinkling away last night. They're items I can have out all year round:), we only bought one thing that would have to be put away after Christmas. Even better i had vouchers so got £5 off my purchases and 20% off my tree as it was ex display and the battery case was missing a small piece of plastic with the casing-u can't even tell:j
I also bought DD boyfriend a very expensive chocolate block that she said he would really love, also had a voucher towards this.
Plan next week is to start finding where I have stored presents and start putting them in their appropriate boxes. Need to start saving packing material
Also need to send a couple of birthday presents this week.
DD is also finding that she is having to get organised. Next weekend is the final weekend she is home before Christmas(has had to come home a few times for medical stuff) so she is getting organised of what she needs to take back with her and deliver next week. DD is pleased that she did most of her shopping in the sales, as she said as a poor starving student now she couldn't afford to shop now like she did in January and doesn't really have the time either.
Sounds like everyone's preparations are coming on really well. Love reading what everyone has been doing, I'm always on the hunt for new ideas:)Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
