hi everyone,
I recently received a letter from Lowell regarding the debt I have to Vanquis credit card. The default date according to Experian reference agency is 29/03/2013. I did not contact Lowell or Vanquis I received this right after I checked my credit file. On that letter I was offered a 50% discount, I have no problem paying that debt but I want it (Default account) to be removed from the credit file. What is the best approach in this situation to remove the default?
thanks in advance,
Mike.

You could ask them, but it's unlikely they'll remove it if it is accurate.0

Your credit file has to reflect how your account has been managed.

Whoever registered it, can remove it, but might not now be the company you owe money too.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. If it is Lowell's name now, they have the ability to removed it. They may try to deny this (they have with people in the past, then changed their mind when a formal complaint is made).
