Better credit card rates - any luck

Dear All,

Has anyone had any luck getting lower apr from their creditors or credit card compaies. I am trying to get lower rates from them, but as of yet they arent playing ball, besides american express who offered me 4% ;) which works out at around £13 a month interest roughly.

Has anyone tried this and got any success?

Thanks,

Tony

we got MBNA, and 2 mastercards down to 0% from sending an SOA and a pleading letter .....the cards are suspended BUT the debt is reducing now. Barclaycard wouldn't play ball and egg i have left as i use it for our business.

if your cc score is A*, shift the debt to 0% deals...if not, imply that you are considering an IVA but would prefer not to......that's what we did....now putting £400 worth of interest each month off the actual debt.

MBNA are the only ones who agreed to a reduction in interest on the two cards I have with them, from 29% on each, down to 22 and 23%. Big whoop. Better than nothing though! I had tried the "I've been offered a better deal" line. Mint and Egg had "no special offers" at the moment.
