How many months of bank statements?

I've just switched my current account. My old account has closed.
I'm planning to look to buy (first time buyer) in the spring, will have had the new account at least 3 months by then. How many months worth of bank statements do mortgage lenders typically ask for? If it's more than 3 months Ill contact the old bank to get copies my old statements, but how far should I go back?

0 - 3 for account conduct.
1 - 6/12 for deposit build-up.
The latter will usually be determined by solicitor, not lender.I am a mortgage broker. As a pre-FTB I am interested to know why they need 1-6/12 for proof of deposit build up? Is proof of deposit not enough?Anything I say in no way constitutes financial advice and anything you do is your own decision.0

The proving you have a deposit is of no value as you won't complete without it. Where the deposit has come from is the key.I am a Mortgage Broker
