Would you eat your pet's food?

  • Yes if it meant survival
I've eaten dog biscuits out of curiosity, but the meat... hmmm... I'd have to be pretty desperate.

A former colleague of mine once found her boyfriend was regularly chatting up another woman in the pub. As revenge, she made a meat pie using Pedigree Chum for tea one evening and didn't tell him. He asked for a second slice... ;)

My style of 'humour' ..... :D
  • I once ate some cat food. It was early in the morning, I was half asleep whilst feeding the cats, and there was a big lump of cat food on the end of the fork after I had put the food down, and I licked the fork. Woke me up pretty sharpish!

    Never again!

No - Not under any circumstances
I had a cat who would only eat dried food he found tinned cat food so offensive he would kick the contense of his litter tray over a bowl of cat food in an attempt to bury the stuff.
Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"

    Yes
I regularly try a bit of the horses food, or the rabbits. Some of it is actually quite nice :rotfl:

I like to make sure it's fresh. I'd do the same with good quality, premium dog/cat food, but not the cheap stuff or anything tinned which is often crap anyway. Generally, if I wouldn't eat it, I wouldn't feed it to my pets. Same with changing their water, and cleaning food/water bowls.

I would draw the line at eating crickets or something for a pet reptile!

Raw fed dogs here so yes I would eat quite a bit of their food if starving but I would want it cooked first, only bits I wouldn't eat are offal (I really dislike the stuff) and bone in minces. Boneless minces and chunks would be fine though

I would not want to deprive my cats of their food if they had some and I didn't
The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best

Ditto here. In fact, we've already kind of shared - a neighbour does pest control and gives us his excess rabbits, some make it into a rabbit pie for us, though most are destined for the dogs' bellies.

Definately not eating the tripe, though..
