At the SVR of 5% £15k over 1 year will cost £400.19 interest if you made 12 monthly payments of £1,283.35.
The best deal with Sainsbury's at 2.8% if you have the nectar card for 2 years would cost you £435.79 interest with 24 monthly payments of £643.16. (I suspect chances of getting it are low)
SVR still wins and would have to hit 5.5% before the loan option gets better.0

The monthly payments of a personal loan would roughly be the same of my current mortgage payments so I guess a lender should get confidence I can afford payments as I did for the mortgage.
Anyone experienced in getting a personal loan this big? How did it work?
 Many thanks!
Your problem is though that banks will not lend on an unsecured basis to purchase property.
Pay as much as you can as soon as the fixed rate finishes then overpay when funds allow.
Nothing stopping you putting your normal shopping say on a purchase free 0% credit card - and you using the money that you would have spent on the mortgage.0
