Printer ink cartridge - Canon ip1800 where to buy?

I've been gifted a second-hand printer, a Canon iP1800. No ink cartridges. I have no idea where to buy cartridges at a cheap price. Can anyone help?

Also, I don't need colour printing. Do I HAVE to have the colour cartridge for the printer to work, or can I just install a black ink cartridge.

Apologies for being so behind the times, but I've never had a printer before.

I did search for "printer ink" on the forum, but nothing came up... not sure what else I should have searched under.

If you look online you should find the manual which might tell you if you need all the inks. My canon won't work just with black but it is a different model.
Inks - do you want original canon cartridges or would you be ok with compatible cartridges (refills) which are cheaper? I don't like compatibles so I get my originals from Amazon which seems to compare well price wise - other people have had no issues with the compatible ones.

If you are only printing in black and white, compatibles should be fine (it's usually the colour inks which can be a bit 'off').

Thank you for such rapid responses! I am happy with compatible cartridges and will order the ebay ones in your link Lisbon. And thank you for the clarification that I need to buy both colour and black cartridges. This site and it's members are great. Happy new year!
