Non-verified Loan Applications
Hi all,
First post on here..
Had a few issues the other night (all sorted now) where I needed some money quick. I applied for a few loans with the expectation to pay back in the next couple days.
The loans were approved (in principal) and they just needed me to 'verify and accept'. However since I no longer need the loans I have emailed the lenders and asked to cancel my application- some have replied saying no big deal and some are yet to reply (only been a few hours so will let them off lol).
Just want to ask you lot whether I need to do anything else? The applications typically went through payday loan sites and were not long term loans.
I don't want any unexpected payments and such (cannot see anything in T&C's but are these a possibility?).
I have also received a few unwanted texts telling me they have loans available for me. I guess thats my fault for using a creditor and I will probably have to change my number if it gets annoying.
Cheers!

Did you hand over your debit card numbers at all?
If so I would be expecting a few ''fees'' to be debited to your account.0 -
I had to for the credit check but other than that no. Would you say its worth calling my bank and telling them? Not sure if they can prevent these fees coming out?0

You didn't need to hand over debit card details for a credit check. Just for them to take a fee.
Watch out for the fees coming out of your account, then follow the refund procedure on each broker's site.0 -

Woah you gave your card details over will nilly.
Card details for reputable lenders arent needed for the credit check.
Just replicated what has been said, got distracted with something else.
As for the texts re loans, either delete them when you receive them or block the number.0 -
Thank you all.
I thought I may have been safe as I went through a creditor- Cashbean (unless I have been misinformed). That way I only received 'offers' as opposed to going direct to a lender.
Is that incorrect?0 -
There is nothing on their site about needing a card for a credit check, it says clearly, it's needed for repayments. It also says it does not charge you for a loan, but takes a commission from any lender.
However, there's probably more in their full T&CsNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Thank you all.

If you needed the money quick theres other reputable lenders eg Wonga for 1, im not advocating a pay day loan is the way to go.
If you applied for a loan do you need to look at your finances, maybe post on the debt free wannabe board.0 -
I suggest you talk to your bank and tell them what has happened, and to cancel the card immediately, together with any continuous payment authority.
You can bet your bottom dollar someone, somewhere will attempt to take money from your account."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0
