This is very apt for me as I've just compiled weekly budgets until the end of April!!! DH is weekly paid and we have ad-hoc things coming up that I want to try and pay for from weekly money rather than raiding the savings/emergency fund.
I am sure we can cut down on our food bill so my job for this evening is to look at recipes.0 -
I'd love to not buy any food in January. I am a serious food hoarder. As in seriously bad. Larder, cupboard, full size freezer is full
I might set myself a NSOF (No Spend on Food) challenge. I'd just have to allow for bread, fruit and vegetables, milk and yoghurt. Oh and drinking squash as OH goes through a bottle a week.
I just have no self control! But I really don't need food, I've got so much flour in the freezer I could make cakes, bread, biscuits. No need to buy stuff.Money money money.

January is normally a frugal month here anyway. But I have booked a plasterer to do some work so will need to pay them! Also it's my birthday towards the end of the month along with two other family birthdays along the way so will need to have a bit set aside for that.
But food wise I will not go over budget (£100 needs to last until the 17th for six of us) lots in freezers, and milk and bread are delivered via the milkman and all budgeted for.
I am planning on starting a diary to try to curb any excess, to make myself accountable, I have been doing so well over the past three months, but have slipped into spending on the dreaded credit card over this past week......Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0 -
I seriously have enough food in the house to last until February. I might have to buy some milk but that's about it! So I only have the usual direct debits going out. Hoping to save enough money in January for my holiday spends in February.Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0

I think I have enough to last till March.... Maybe we should start a food diary thread in debt free diaries and we can encourage anyone who wants to participate AND the money you would have spent on food can go towards debt/savings/a treat at the end of the monthMoney money money.
