Eyelash cluster removal. . . . Help !

I had eyelash clusters for the first time 2 days ago ( Tuesday evening ) . . . . Bit of a shock to the system when you've never even worn false ones
To cut a long story short . . . one eye now looks bloody awful and I need to remove them tonight . . . I would rather not ask the person who put them on for me for advice and was hoping that somebody on here could help me by answering a couple of questions. . .
I have "googled " how to remove them but just wanted some reassurance !
Basically it says to " steam my face " for 15 mins . . then to put some olive oil on some cotton wool and rub the clusters off . . and that would leave me with my original lashes . .
Does that sound right ? and would I still have my own lashes ? . . I'm out on Christmas Day and don't want to loose my " own " lashes.
if the " Google solution " is correct . . . my next problem is there anything else I can use instead of olive oil ? ( I've run out and have just been to my local tiny tesco and budgets and they haven't got any ) . .
I'm desperate to sort this out before I go out in the morning . .
I did try ringing a local salon this afternoon to see if they could help but they are fully booked this week. . . . they did say they could remove them for £45
:( next week .
Anybody got any advice . . .other than to tell me I shouldn't have had them done in the first place !

I am by no means an expert in this and have zero experience in this area but using an oil sounds a fairly logical and gentle way to go about things. Do you have any beauty oils to hand that might be OK to use around the eye area? Or almond oil at all?0

I had them done and didn't like them either, I removed mine after two days just wiping a miscellar wipe to gently rub the eye and they came off leaving my eyelashes still intact.0

If you've micellar water it has oil in it (please do not ask me how, I think it's a Dark Art & violates all I know of chemistry) that should help if not solve the problem?
Good news is it shouldn't hurt eye skin, lashes etc at all, just loosen the adhesion, bad news is cost/availability if you've none handy.0 -
Anything with oil will start to dissolve the glue - even normal eye makeup remover (you're meant to use special stuff without oil with false alshes).
It'll take time though I'm afraid, they won't instantly come off.
Anyway, just hold a cotton pad soaked with anything oil based against your lashes, as tight to the glue as you can get, and occasionally gently rub. Best to do one eye at a time while watching TV, I wouldn't be surprised if each eye takes at least 30mins...0 -
Cluster lashes are usually 'party lashes' and only meant for a couple of days wear - sounds like you've had lash extensions (more usually individual lashes) which last 2-4 weeks depending on how well you look after them; or they've used a stronger/semi permanent glue for the clusters
I had clusters done and they had no sticking power at all and the lass that had done they had used a lot of glue. You're best bet is anything with oil in, cover a cotton pad with it then hold it against your lashes with your eyes closed. Keep it on for up to 5 mins then take them away and gently rub the lashes (natural and cluster) with your fingers and they should start to loosen. It will take time and may take a few attempts.
If they really won't budge then you're best calling a local salon and pleading or and independent beauty person. I actually went to a local training salon as I was panicking about mine. the girls tried for over an hour and then the tutor relented and got the glue remover meant for semi permanents and took them off. after it my skins hurt but at least they were gone!
can I ask why you don't want to ask the person who did them? she should be told if there's a problem with her work really as it should be something she can either fix or learn from************************************

Didn't even notice the age of the thread, came across it on google and posted what I thought was a helpful reply and to guide anyone in the local area to actual experts, thus saving them money. The horror! :T0 -
But why where you searching? Goodness of your heart thought Oh I must google and help people with eyelash custer problems.

I'm not sure I'd use a product that says:Careprost (Bimatoprost Ophthalmic) is a medicated solution applied to the eyes as a treatment for open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension (increased pressure in the eye). This pressure is caused by a build up of a fluid called aqueous humour within the eye. By increasing the amount of this fluid drained from the eye, this product helps to treat the above mentioned conditions, thereby preventing serious damage to the eyes.
