Hello, basically in 2013 I got in a lot of debt and my finances went out of control. I was a student with an overdraft with barclays. Stupidly I didn't pay my overdraft back, and when I received letters from Barclays I just ignored it and buried my head in the sand. From this I have a default on my account, I remember my debt been sold to moorcroft debt company and I began a payment plan with them again stupidly I stopped paying into this payment plan, this was about 2014. I have recently sought to try pay this default off however I have spoke to moorcroft and they no longer have the debt, and I have spoke to Barclays and they said my account is no longer open with them. I am just looking for advice on what my next steps should be, I know I have been really foolish with my finances but I really am trying to get back onto track and I have done with all other aspects of finance expect this one.

Hi,
Check your credit file, see who is reporting on the debt now.

It says Barclays, I have spoken to them on the phone and in branch with my account and sort code and they still say they don't own the debt. Thanks for the advice.0
