See you all next year in the other thread.0 -
I just did my end of year totals and got to 1755 miles. I did keep more or less to schedule until June. This has been a pretty grim year for me though, so I'm not beating myself up about it. I definitely walked more overall than I would have because of this thread. And I do feel a lot less good for not walking so much at the minute. Glad to hear you have all been doing so well!0

Well, I maxed out at around 2008 miles.
Really great community that has been built on here to support each other, but wow it has been hard work, epecialy with a full and active family/work life!
Well done to everybody on here who took on their own challenge and look forward to seeing what can be done next year.....!0 -
Well done wiz!
Belfastgirl, I hope things start to get easier/better in the new year for you.
SplanK, yep I've done some strange walking things some days, mostly when away, just to keep the miles up!0 -
My STEPS totals.
I use google fit on a Huawei P9 lite I am 73 years old
I started measuring in January 2015. During that year the very fact of measuring spurred me to walk more.
I was very happy with MY total steps in 2015 and was determined to walk even more.
My 2016 total exceeded my 2015 total by 31% due to being aware of walking and my target.
2017 has been a triumph FOR ME as I am only competing against myself.
I exceeded my 2016 total by 8%
I am a VERY happy Walker.
I suspect at my age and without changing my lifestyle dramatically I have reached my plateau. I shall see. I will still have my NEW daily average set in my phone AND in my mind.
Good luck and a happy new year to all walkers, however old, whatever you measuring devise or units. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

My final fitbit report of 2017 gave me 47 miles which is an improvement on my usual weekly distance. Amazing how much further you can go with a bit of effort.
So my final total for 2017 is !,780.35 miles.
Failed in the challenge but I know if I hadnt had my bad chest infection which lasted well over a month, I would have smashed it.
Will try and get ahead of myself for 2018's challenge.
See you all over there and well done to everyone that made or exceeded their target :jMake £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
So my final distance for 2017 was 2446 miles.
Some interesting facts about my stats:
Longest distance in a day: 40.12 km
Average distance per day: 10.8 km
Shortest distance in a day: 0.5 km (due to illness)
Well done to everyone whether you achieved your goal or not. The key aim to this thread has always been to act as a prompt to get us out of the door and doing something. Therefore, it is clear that it has been a resounding success!:T:T:T
From a personal perspective it has helped me reach and maintain my optimum weight. I now also really appreciate the physical and psychological benefits that exercise offers. I am much fitter at the start of 2018 than I was at the start of 2017. Therefore my new goal is to improve my cardio fitness using HIIT and a lot more gym and swimming work.
Happy New Year to all the runners, walkers, ramblers, strollers et al.:money::money::money:In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -

That was close, very close, less than 14 miles. I think it was a short year, so you are not at fault:D
The bottom line for both you and Kantankarus is that it made you aware of moving more, so it's been a win.
Well done jonbvn:j0
