Does anybody here buy meat or fish frozen from the supermarket...
Tesco have on offer a pack of frozen salmon half price, £4.99 instead of £9.99 soo I have stuck them on my order but i'm a bit weary as to what they will be like. anyone had any???
I do buy frozen chicken breasts as I always freeze any fresh meat I get anyway, so as it is usually cheaper to buy frozen I have started to do that, But is it cheaper because it is not as good meat????

Well I can't see how freezing it can make it any worse than the non-frozen they sell - I would imagine it's all from the same supplier.
I've had frozen chicken breasts no problems, so I'd give it a try!0 -
Hi there!
I had the salmon fillets last night and they were absolutely fine. You cook them from frozen too, so no need to defrost either!0 -
The Tesco salmon on offer isn't a Tesco own make. It is fine - has no skin and no bones but isn't quite as nice as their own 8 pack for £10 - non frozen version.
It is fine but I am not quite sure why it tastes slightly different to the other ones.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
We don't tend to buy frozen meat and fish but do buy a lot of fresh (usually yellow stickered) and put in the freezer. Which I suppose is the same principle. Never had a problem with things like salmon or trout etc once defrosted and cooked. We have a friend who gives us the odd big pack of smoked salmon and we just divide up into portions, freeze and then defrost for salad etc when required. Lovely.
Hope this helps.
