Present for someone with end-stage terminal cancer?

Options
Hello

NOt sure if right place but does anyone have any suggestions of what to get someone for Christmas who has end-stage cancer? MIL has weeks left with brain tumour, finding reading/watching tv hard, is bed bound most of the time.

Have got her nice things to eat (she can still eat), and a poncho/shawl type thing to keep her warm she can bung over her nightwear.

Have suggested bubble machine/mobile/window hanging decs too as something for her to look at from bed, but am really stumped. She may be entering a hospice soon, so any suggestions for things that would also be useful in there too.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thank so much

An audio book, maybe? that might be easier for her than watching tv as it requires less concentration.
Scented candles, unless strong smells are making her nauseous.

Dunelm Mill have 'teddy' fleeces which are much softer than regular velour throws. The baby/infant sized ones (which come in pastel shades to not show up a pale complexion) are ideal as a shoulder wrap or lap cover (also being very tactile if you want something to hug).

Call a Douglas MacMillan hospice, as they are sure to have some ideas.

These companies have some special gifts for cancer sufferers , but they probably wouldn't arrive before Christmas. http://victoriaspromise.com/vp-gift-hampers/?gclid=CKWyq4HhhdECFQIL0wodhhUNAA

How about a digital photo frame on which you have loaded as many photos which will trigger happy memories for her as you can? The frames themselves can be bought for under £40 these days and the photos themselves of course cost nothing but your time.

A chillow if she's suffering from temperature disregulation (probable) will help keep her cool.

Teddy bear fleece is a really good suggestions, but I would perhaps buy 2 to make sure one is available while one in wash.

Is there anything you would always have bought her? Maybe a perfume or something? Even if its say chocolates and she can't eat, maybe consider getting them anyway. Their absence could be felt badly.

A nice notebook and pen in case she wants to write (she may want to write farewells, memories, day to day to jog her own memory). If writing is too hard, what about a dictation recorder?

Remember to take care of yourself and your partner who is losing their mom too xxx

Would something like a jigsaw puzzle suit perhaps? Or some kind of card game or similar?
