Jacobs Enforcement

Options
Looking for some advice. I had a payment arrangement with Jacobs a few months ago and silly me thought I set up a standing order for them, but it only set it up for one payment. Therefore I had a letter from a bailiff stating removal would happen within 48 hours unless I rang them (his name was Matt Burraway). So I did and we arranged a payment plan over the phone and agreed I would ring 2 days later to make a payment and then set up a direct debit. However, when I rang him, he never answered despite leaving voicemails - I think I left around 20 in the end before I gave up ringing. Instead, I paid Jacobs directly using the bank information they had given me previously.

Fast forward 3 weeks to today, still no telephone call from Matt, who appears to not be a licenced enforcement agent according to the justice website, I have received a text stating
"I am contacting you from Jacobs Removal Team. We not have no option but to go ahead with removal action. This will begin in the next 24 hours. Call 07973820608". No contact name, no reference number. So I've rang the number and surprise surprise, they have not answered so I have left a voicemail.

I am worried that they are going to come to my property and try to gain peaceful access to remove goods from my property - none of which I own myself. All are borrowed items from my mother until I am in a financial position to buy replacements myself following a burglary 2 years ago. Should I call Jacobs themselves to discuss the matter? I am confused why they have "no option" when I have proof of paying Jacobs directly from my bank account the agreed amount with Matt Burraway.

Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Ok if your an android user i can highly recommend through extensive use an app called Call recorder pro.

Its free from playstore and it works brilliantly...ive used it dozens of times to "remind" myself of the convosations ive had with various people and odd occasion to remind them of what they have said/agreed to etc.

Also records the fact you have made calls and gone to voice mail and also lists every call to that number with date and time and call duration.

Not spamming and ive no connection to the app...just a very happy user and its helped me no end to make notes when making complaint or backing up my version of events.

    Well worth a look.
