Injury at work

Hi all

I suffered a twisted knee injury at work after slipping on some remnants of food not cleaned up in the walkway. There were no hazard signs. I slipped and twisted my knee.

This happened in October and I have been on crutches and high dose painkillers since mid October. I had my MRI scan last week and I have a complex tear of the meniscus, vertical and horizontal and a partial rupture of the medial collateral Ligament. I have an urgent appt to see the surgeon in early January and have already been advised that it will be an Op to correct things.

Obviously I may look at claiming on this as I am now looking at an Op and a ruined Xmas....am I better going for a no win no fee or going through the union?

Advice appreciated x

Almost certainly through your union. Which union is it? Some are better than others.

Certainly better to go through the union in the first instance. No win, no fee converts into Win - big fat fee if your claim is successful.
Avoid going the court route if it is possible. Cases can drag on for a long time, and the no win, no fee mob are likely to tell you to push for more than the initial compensation figure because it's better for them.
