Vodafone and bankruptcy

Hi all
Just a quick question in regards to vodafone and bankruptcy.
I have two contracts with vodafone, both taken out within last 6 months, before my debt issues. One contract is for my other half which she pays the money into my account for but both in my name.
What will happen to these contracts when i become BR? Will they be cancelled? I have never missed a payment with them although im aware on the website it states you need to contact them to inform them which I can do just not sure what response to expect?
Cheers

Call Vodafone from a different number/handset, to avoid your account being brought up on screen.
Ask the following to the billing team, "I have a friend who is bankrupt and is a Vodafone pay monthly customer, does he need to inform you of the bankruptcy if he is not in arrears? and, will you close his line even if payments are up to date? Thanks, have a great Christmas"
Many have forgotten to inform Vodafone and the contracts continue but in your shoes I would ask the question via anonymity, for my own peace of mind.0 -
I spoke with live chat via Vodafone.co.uk, passed on to a call to the 'credit team' @ Vodafone.
They advise that any up and running Vodafone account that is not in arrears is to continue as usual during a bankruptcy not including Vodafone debt.
In short: Your accounts are safe providing payments are maintained and you will also be eligible for routine upgrades.
I was also advised the bankruptcy stipulation you read about was for customers experiencing difficulty, no difficulty maintaining payments, regardless of bankruptcy = no need to inform.0 -
Thank you very much for your help alltaken, much appreciated

I had no problem with my mobile pay monthly contracts (x2) I was not in arrears (and had never ever been in nearly 15 years) and no problem with upgrades. However, the problem is if another provider offers a better deal - it is very hard to switch to another provider (credit checks) so in a way you become a captive of your existing provider for at least a couple of years so make sure its a good deal before you go BR.0

I had just become bankrupt ans was with Vodafone and another company but I was able to reduce my outgoings by taking two contracts with them and benefiting from the 2nd handset discount. I agree that you are tied in but since that time I have benefited again from better deals when I was considering leaving them (because they are very expensive) when the time comes again for you go to CPW via Quidco0
