Mortgage Funds Released Before Exchange and Completion

Hi All!

So my solicitor has told me that they have had to re-request the mortgage funds and I was advised to check with the bank status.
So get this, when I call them, they tell me that the funds were released over a week ago????
My bank is Halifax.
I am meant to be exchanging tomorrow and completing on Thursday, will this affect anything?
I haven't have chance to check this out with my solicitor yet as they were closed for the day after I rang the bank.
I'm worried this will affect the deal and my solicitor has already pushed the date about 3/4 times already.

Both parties need to be a position to exchange and complete. Your solicitor has no control over events.

Leave matters to your solicitor. Your intervention isn't going to speed things up.

In this case I disagree. If the solicitor has rerequested yet the bank thinks they sent the money already, it sounds as if someone needs to intervene to sort the mess out even if it's just to relate to the solicitor what the bank said.

Perhaps the bank had resent (authorised) the transfer but the solicitor hadn't received it (at the time of the conversation with the OP). Completion isn't until Thursday so no immediate urgency.
