Help and advice needed - spiralling!

Sounds like a very similar situation that I was in. I had head in sand for a long time until I faced up to it with £50K plus debt. My advice is to definitely cut up the credit cards. Now, tonight! You need to stop using them. It really helps to focus on how much cash you have. It doesn't matter that its 'Christmas'. That'll be here again next year. Do it now. In 2013 we budget £11 a present for all our children. And no one though any the worse afterwards. Good luck.0
