I would also look at this from the other direction, if it happens to occur again and you haven't told the new employer they may be less inclined to support you or believe you as you had not told them about it before.
Telling them the truth means you have been open about it and if it does happen again a good employer will support you.
If they revoke the offer now then perhaps they would not be the type of company to support you during other times of need.
Be honest, open so it doesn't open up further questions - while some things shouldn't be asked or answered, it may still happen off the record.0 -
Certainly not trying to make light of the stresses of a job in teaching, but if the OP thinks life working for the Civil Service is low stress they will be in for a nasty shock.
I've worked for the civil service before, no issues. Worked for the military before, no issues.
Teaching...well. 70 hour weeks aren't for me.0 -
Thanks for the advise. I was particularly looking for people who have had this experience one way or another but doesn't seem to be.
I'm going to answer honestly but if they rescind, I will withold in future applications. Hopefully they will realise the droves of people leaving the profession through stress, depression and anxiety.0 -

That's good, I just didn't want you to be going in blind. That's definitely worse than the Civil Service! If there is space on the application form to provide any sort of explanation for the absence I would be inclined to do so. "Excessive hours, 60+ per week, caused health problems" or something similar.0
