Having paid into a Scottish life endowment for nearly 19 years I decided to surrender it as no endowment auction houses would touch it.Surrender value in august was £25,930.Today it was valued at £28,883.I wonder why?

Could be a few things.I wonder why?
If it is unit linked, then the movement upwards in the markets since August would cover that. If its with profits, then terminal bonus could be the difference as older plans tend to update the bonuses every 6 months (Feb and Aug being the most popular dates).
If there was a policy anniversary in between the valuations then a reduction in surrender penalty could be the reason.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
