Proof of Residence

Hello all,
I'm applying for a mortgage and the documents I need to provide include a Proof of ID and a Proof of residence.
For the proof of ID, I will be using my British passport.
However, for the proof of residence, I was planning to use my driver's license, which has my permanent Dorset address on. The Dorset address is not where I'm currently living and I'm renting a property in London. I'm afraid the utility bill does not have my current London address, nor does my bank statement (which is also registered to my Dorset address). The only thing that does have my London address on is my P45 from HMRC, but this was given to me more than 3 months ago in my previous job - is there a chance I could use this?
My current payslips also have my london address - would this be acceptable as well?
Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

You'll need to ask whoever is wanting this ID what they'll accept - there isn't a standard answer. Haven't they provided further guidance?0

is there a reason why you have all your main financial stuff registered in Dorset and not where your living now?
You could be fined if you do not update the DVLA of changes in address.
Also if your car insurance is registered to Dorset and you have an accident in London where you live, that could be considered as fraud as you could be seen as trying to get cheaper premiums.

I would request a copy of your credit report. If you have two addresses there may be other issues. If they haven't picked up on the London address, then it might be a non-issue?0

1. For most lenders, the P45 or your payslip is not an acceptable proof of address. So it is unlikely that you will be able to use it for the same.
2. In all likelihood, you will be asked for 1-3 months of bank statements for the mortgage application. Submitting one with a Dorset address on it might be an issue.
In your place I get a £2 copy of my credit file would see a broker (if you don't have one already) and get his/her advice before taking the next step.Hello all,
