Dissertation Questionnaire Psychology

Options
Hello,

I am not sure if there is a section for this on the forums or if this isn't allowed but I am looking to find participants aged 18 and over to complete my questionnaire for my dissertation. It will take between 5 - 10 minutes to complete. The questionnaire is looking at attitudes towards sexual offenders living back in the community.

Would anyone be kind enough to help me out? It would mean so so much.

I did a lot of research on the same thing. Did you look at the Swedish research? Wow, I was amazed, but it has been some years since I did my research. Best of luck.

Just wanted to say that there is no space for comments on your survey but my responses would differ depending on the nature and severity of the offence. Which is information you've very carefully not given us.

I completed the survey but yes, there was scant information about the offence.

I don't know how helpful my answers will be, I've completely contradicted myself! I've assumed it's a bad offence, but I struggled to answer because whilst they obviously have to live somewhere and get on with life after release, I wouldn't want to live next door to a sex offender and I think some people need to know, especially if the offence was child sexual abuse. The problem is they'll never move on if they have to tell neighbours and colleagues about it.

I think they should be very closely monitored after release by police and they should have regular contact with a psychologist to see if they're at risk of reoffending.
  • Thanks to everyone who has completed this so far.

Due to ethics and codes of conduct with regards to the British Psychological Society, I had to be careful not to go into a lot of detail about the offence. I do agree with the feedback in that it would have been helpful to know a bit more about the offence. I have highlighted the age of the perpetrator and victim (both over the age of 16) but perhaps if I conduct the study again I will be able to include more information.
