I bought my niece she was 1 for her birthday this year a snuggle pillow in the shape of Winnie the pooh £7.49 on ebay - similar ones are nearly £20 in disney store I got mine off ebay and have recently purchased another one for another niece whos 9 and both of them love their winnie pooh pillows on the tag they do say "Suitable for all ages" and they do have disney label attached

Link to one on ebay I am not the seller by the way but I can highly recommend then as I have had great experiences on both transactions.

    Hope this helps

What about a toy phone at 12mths most babies seem to be very interested in phoning and making calls?
Wooden blocks game to encourage play skills(boots do a really good one with pet patterns for £8)
A musical book which will encourage reading, hearing and listenig skills.
A doll-there are lots of dolls aimed at 1 year olds which are soft and safe to play with at that age-try boots or the early learning centre.
A pull along caterpiller to pull while crawling or a frcition powered car she can crawl after.

I have 3 kids of 4 and under, all still play with them - around 6 months to a 2 years they get loads of play out of them.

I bought our set in a local independent toyshop, but in a (very) quick search I found them here, incurring a £1.99 :

Maybe you could just give the money as the lo will probably have dozens of toys and clothes that she will probably not wear.

For Xmas I am going to ask for Clothing Vouchers so we can get things as and when we need it or money to put in his trust.
