Right I have read all THIRTY pages of your debt free diary, as you keep checking in on mine so I wanted to return the favour.

You are such a nice bloke man, I actually cannot believe the cheek of that woman you spent 11 years with. I wouldn't have put up with that behaviour for 5 seconds dude, you are seriously wayyyy to nice man, and honestly that is a compliment not a criticism.

I was reading your diary and I got to like May last year where you post up you are on lesson TWENTY and only just started doing manoeuvres. WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?! I could tell your instructor was an absolute fool all the way back then. I did my first manoeuvre in my first few lessons and I was in Central London doing my driving lessons!!!!

Driving is absolutely in no way going to save you money and I want to make that crystal clear, car ownership is an enormous money pit... You think the lessons are expensive - trust me the insurance is gonna be super high as you're a new male driver, then the car will definitely break down at some stage, e.g. I have spent over £1000 last year on car repairs and servicing in 2017. I had a repair bill at christmas of £600, the car messed up the day before I was driving to the parents.

That being said reading your diary dude, you need to get on the road. No idea how you survive without a car. I live in Zone 2 London with buses every 2 minutes outside my door, 24/7 tube station close by etc and I still NEED my car.

Reading your diary some bits made me laugh, who buys DVDs!? lol - it aint 2005. :D Get yourself Netflix and a Kodi. Who turns everything off apart from the boiler hahaaha - aint nobody got time for that!!!... On that note, keep your WiFi plugged in, else your line is much more likely to get banded (there's something called dynamic line management on BT lines which EE sky etc use, it basically only gives you the best speeds if you have a super stable line - we are talking no drop outs for like months on end, turning it off will trick the system to thinking it dropped and cant support that speed), people who turn the routers off often don't get updates overnight and get slower speeds...

Noticed you seem fairly new in your fitness journey, especially with not doing much just over a year ago... Always always always train, be the best version of you that you can physically be. I don't care if you're in the most stable relationship in the UK, if you have 6 kids, if you work 14 hour days... No excuses, you get to that gym and you do at least 30 mins... People suck & when they let you down you need to ensure you are the best version of you, never put yourself in a position where you've let yourself go, it's surprising how much more people beg for you back when you're in good keeping. Trust me it's so much fun to play them around when they've broken your heart, it gives you the power back & even if they don't ask for you back, you're not stuck there thinking damn look at me. I saw my dad cheat on my mum and it made me realise, even after 20 years together this stuff can happen and you always gotta be ready.

On another note, I hope life gives you the opportunity to watch the girl of 11 years suffer and I hope you enjoy it. Whether you get news she's been messed around etc, karma is so satisfying.

Re job and depression. Work can be tiring as hell, I was ill on Monday so went the gp that day and worked at home (but worked until like 11pm). Tuesday and Wednesday I went gym at 4am to 5am, worked 6am to 7pm catching up on work. Thurs I worked 7am to 6pm. Today I will likely be in office by 7am... I have often billed my clients 65+ hours a week, my longest week billed last year was 84 hours where I literally went in 8am to 8pm everyday even the weekend.

I think you should make a commitment to try and work everyday in 2018 ie no signed time off by the GP etc. It will surprise you how strong and powerful you are when you breakthrough those down times and go into the office anyway. Eventually you'll learn habits to deal better (I hope), I sometimes feel like I literally cannot cope and somehow I get through it, mainly as I know they'd fire my !!! right away if I didn't show for a few days.

Wish you all the best buddy

Haha thanks Cams that means re what you said about me a lot a few people have said that and they are usually female after they have screwed me over.lol

A few things you mentioned lol

re DVDS I now don't buy them. I have fibre with EE, I pay for Now TV which is 7quid and I use a mates Netflix login he uses my now tv in return I don't think I have bought a dvd in months most of them have gone on Ziffit. Re broadband and switching it off noted I didn't realise that it will stay on. I watch a canny few podcasts at the moment ie True Geordie/Joe Rogan etc Its worth giving Joe Rogan a look he does some interesting ones with Rhonda Patrick I think her name is, she does some good ones re diet and nutrition.

My old instructor was a tool my new one seems sound first lesson with him it was manoveurs straight away. How I survive its a ball ache being honest I spent well 12 hours plus a week on public transport the only benefit is well I sit and do surveys when on the bus nicking wifi. I hate it as on weekends the bus times are a ball ache ie one per hour, or they leave an hour after I finish work. I work 4 on 4 off 10pm-645am so its a good month then a bad.

Yeah your right re the fitness journey I did nothing in the later years of living with the ex bar running huskies or cycling or jogging to keep my weight down. You don't get many successful dog drivers at 14 stone plus. This last year I have got well back into the gym I did quite a lot of cycling over the summer but since about May June I have consistently trained 3-4 days a week doing weights and not being with the ex my diet has being nailed. My current gym guru is pushing me like mad to get on stage in 2019 my abs are there and my upper torso is coming on my only let down at the minute is my legs years of running and cycling theres more muscle on a pork chop.

    I am nicking this btw

Re work I am doing well my new TL is canny and I have had no time off except a day or two with flu in October I am fighting mental illness and beating it. I always take my gym gear to work with me even if I don't always go. I can say hand on heart bar a couple of times where I have had injuries I have consistently trained 4 days a week sometimes five since September. I have no intentions of being off work its not financially in my interests too, mentally I am stronger now I do have a lot of coping mechanisms to deal with stress and being low that I didn't have before. Some are silly things

    Ie Sunbeds once a week

    The gym

I go walking on my todd bar an ipod my phone gets left at home, I walked for miles last Tuesday when I was down it helped boat loads.

And posting here even if it just a survey update or helping some one on the survey making trail.

In the past I never had the time.

I'm going to try and get into the surveys, I'm just easily angered and work crazy hours already. :)

TBH mate if I didn't have my car I don't think I would go the gym at all, carrying a gym bag to work - nah mate I'm not about lugging that around all day. When it comes to walking I am soooo lazy and public transport, I generally arrange to meet people in restaurants or places I know I can park e.g. drive to their house. If I meet someone in London it's only after work, I generally do not make special trips on the tube to see people as I hate transport that much.

I go a gym on the side of a dual carriageway, nobody can get there as many Londoners do not drive, so its cheap and empty.

I hope you can figure out a bit of money somehow so you can actually get the car and insurance. Whats the plan on that one?

  • I hate it mate its a pain re the gym gear but needs must. My gym is a good old school bodybuilding one which is on the way home from work. Price wise its reasonable and don't fall off the chair here but I only pay 70pounds every 3 months (north east England prices). I also once or twice a week go to gymetc which is 18pm but I mainly use that for cardio and swimming and chilling in the sauna or Jacuzzi on my days off.

Re the car front I have some cash saved up to buy one about 1500 and my aunt and uncle said they would lend me some money to get one if I was struggling. Re paying for it ie the running of it I will be saving 350 quid a month when I am not pulling out on driving lessons and a bus travel ticket. I have a few things I can cut if needs be.

I don't envy you living and working in London as a northerner its well a different world. Re surveys if you drop me a pm with your email address I will send you some referrals.

Nice my new gym is only 16.99 a month. A puregym nobody goes to as they’ve advertised it on the map as the wrong location which is like 10 miles out in the middle of nowhere. So people don’t even know it’s there... it’s also off a dual carriageway so you must drive to it - again that puts a lot of Londoners off.

It’s not a bad gym particularly, at least in many respects beats my old one which was £50.

Glad to hear on the car, for 1.5k you can get yourself a decent first car, do bear in mind insurance costs will be sky high as you are new and paying monthly is way way more expensive.

I used to live out in Leeds btw, my sister is in Newcastle and family are based near Manchester so I know the north very well.
