Is next year a write off?

Hi,
First time poster but I'm a regular reader. Hoping I can pick the brains of a few of the resident brokers.
Long story short, my wife and I moved into my in laws in October to save for our deposit. We both have poor credit. I've got 3 defaults and a CCJ, all settled, all under £400. Earliest default date is 2013. My wife has just told me that one of her CC defaults (£400) was from May this year.
Does this completely write off hoping to buy a house in 2017?
My income - £25k
Wife's income - £24k
We have £3k in saving but from January will be saving £2k a month so will be aiming for £15k by early summer 2017. Will there be lenders for us with the default only being 1 year old?
Living in Wales so house prices pretty cheap.
Thank you

Aim for at least a 15% deposit and you should find some options via a broker.I am a Mortgage Broker
