Very tricky situation after death.

long story but will try to keep it short and true.

My gf died last month leaving behind 2 children.

She lived in a house that only she was named on the deeds.(this was sorted in divorce)

The interest only mortgage is still in joint names.

What right has the father over what happens to the house for the children.

any questions please ask.

all advice appreciated.

Is the concern here the house, or the children?

Custody of the children is the bigger issue.

The immediate issue is that the existing mortgage needs to be discharged. Do the children earn enough to take on the mortgage in their own right?

As for the ex what's his attitude in general? Co-operative etc.
