Purchase process - solicitor issue

Hello,
I wonder if someone can advice or have experienced this.
My parents are elderly and I am buying their property off them, as they are moving abroad. I have my mortgage offer, however their solicitor said she can't get through to one of the creditors with a debt registerd on the house, I think she said the company went into administration, so she can't do anything until she is able to get through to them. We have been at it since September. From my side, all searches have been done and now my mortgage offer is about to expire. Should this type of thing take so long? Any advice on what to do? As she did take her time initially in answering queries raised by my solicitor, I'm thinking is she just dragging her feet?
