I got a debt with cabbot finance, I am paying 25 a month for it. It's a ccj debt (original creditor lloyds bank) that
was enforced against me. They are chasing me for another debt (original creditor hsbc) which is now statute barred debt which is over 7 years old. I got proof that this statute barred. I need advice on what
to do for this please?. Can they inforce me to pay for this statute barred debt because
I am paying for the ccj debt? I just want to know my options advice on this would be
highly apprecated.

Hi,
If the debt is statute barred, then send them the statute barred letter.
One debt does not have any bearing on another.

Hi John,
Assuming these are 2 separate account numbers then they shouldn't have used any of the £25 payment to the other account without your consent. So, as long as you haven't received claim forms for the other debts, sourcrates is right, send them the statute barred letter and wait and see how they respond in writing.
Remember it is up to them to prove the debt is not statute barred, not for you to prove that it is.
