Natwest withdreawing direct as method of repayment

Options
Had a letter from Natwest Debt Management Operations stating that they will be cancelling my direct debit from 31 December and new repayment method must be found. What can their reason be for this? I can only see this causing them more hassle. Why when someone has set up a repayment scheme do they need to arrange another form of payment.

Thanks
