Help me identify this Christmas tune

2.1K Posts

I seem to remember this being sung by Perry Como but I might be wrong. I think also its a European song originally, maybe Austrian, German, Swis? Anyway, here are the notes to to my very simple one finger version of the first few bars. I hope someone can give me a clue, even a word or phrase will help (in any language), 'cos I can't bring to mind any of the words. Thanks.
By the way, when I say A# I mean A sharp.

I had already checked all the Perry Como xmas tunes but didn't find it but I did go down that list you linked to, trying a few and eventually got it.
It's a song composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber (lyrics by Tim Rice) for the 1974 film "The Odessa File" and it's called "Christmas Dream". A very nice tune - by an English composer but designed to suit a film set in Germany. I occasionally hear it on the Radio at this time of year and really like it.
Bang on. Thanks.
Now to identify a Christmas tune sung by George Michael - it has a fabulous choir part at the beginning (I think) and at the end. No, hang on I've just searched and found it - it's called "December Song (I Dreamed of Christmas)". Wonderful.
Cheers all.

I read the top post and didn't realise you'd found it already.
