21.9.07 what small dfw thing will you do or have you done today?

Good Morning fellow DFW Peeps and welcome old timers and newbies alike :hello:

Welcome TGI Friday !!!!!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

So, today I will:
  • do piggy comps, clicks and surveys
  • get something listed on ebay - 3 things end today
  • send everyone off with packed lunches
  • update my online spending diary
  • check online banking and update spreadsheet
  • not increase my debt in any way
  • be positive!
Have a good day everyone xx

Hiya hypno! Hi all that follow! Today:
    - am doing my finance practice right now (oops) except nothing is happening, the chart is stuck in a rut (which is why I'm on here, double oops).
    - couple of banking things I have to do.
    - ooh, I just remembered, my Amazon listings ran out, got to put them back up.
    - have done clicks, will do more when I can, including piggy clicks.
    - some surveys - there are so many sitting in my inbox I haven't paid attention to cos I've not had time (ha! This is a thread run by hypno, so I have to confess, I slobbed in front of the TV instead of sitting at the computer clicking).

I think I'd better stop there.

    Today I bought lunch in
Ordered some train tickets from gner as there's an extra discount (parents are paying as it's them we're seeing but I got them cheaper ;) )

OH's going away for a week tonight so when I get home I'm going to go cleaning and tidying crazy - I've got a flylady list to work through (adapted from the one on OS board) and need to sort the spare room as a friend is staying on sunday night and it's full of c**p (or rather highly desirable items I need to get round to selling  )

    Hello,

    Today I:

didn't spend any money because I didn't go into town at lunchtime (it was chucking it down!)
    had cupboard lunch
fridge tea for 2 tonight when DF gets home
did Nectar card survey for 100 bonus points

    Have a good weekend
  • I chased a company that charged me, rang me and said they couldn't supply the order and that I would be refunded (then didn't refund me) to get my money back. Not sure that counts. Had a crappy day dealing with my unpleasant ex about money too which upset me so I didn't feel like eating lunch which also saved money (looking for the silver linings in all murky clouds as always). NS so far. Depends whether I crack when I go to the pub later and have some beer or just stick to the free water like usual.

Did not spend anything today and neither of family members spent any money today, yes that's the way. My older daughter gets now packed lunch that she hates. I give her lots of fruit and veg, but all she wants is to go to school canteen and eat their pasta, which costs 15-20£/week!!!! She doesn't ask for money and doesn't argue, but doesn't eat her packed lunch. It is like a hunger strike. How can she be not hungry if she leaves home at 7.30 and returns 4.30. That's 9 hours! Those teenagers!! uurrrh!!

Thanks for this, I'll try. I offered to make it before, but she said:"mmm you know.. I really don't like cold food" meaning that really nothing could be done, except giving her some money. But if I make and put it in her box, she might eat it, I'll try.
She is thin as a celery stick and seeing that she doesn't eat my softer-hearted OH (who is not as strong DFW as myself) starts nagging me, maybe we can give her some money? But I stay firm and say NO.
  • Oh I'm so happy it's FRIDAY! :j
