Suspension

Hi

My partner has been suspended from work and the suspension letter said that he should not have any contact with anyone in his workplace or attend his place of work.

He has asked permission to go into work to access some information he needs for the disciplinary meeting and HR have agreed (via email) that he can go in one specified day to gather this.

How does he protect himself, does he need to? Clearly he will be in contact with those people who he was told he shouldn't be and in the workplace. He will not discuss the allegations with anyone but just wanted some general advice really.

Thank you.

His colleagues will no doubt be aware of the suspension and will know not to come and make idle chit chat with him, or they could be in trouble themselves.

He needs to go in, get what he needs, and leave. Not really that complicated.

I would expect him to have to report to HR, or another person from management, on arrival and that the would be accompanied for the duration of his time on site. Go in, get what's needed and get back out again.
  • I would assume that to protect both him and them someone will escort him wherever he needs to go.

My hubby was suspended at work a few years ago so if you need any more advice pm me. Luckily he kept his job but took he blame for something that the company knew happened and condoned yet when it came out the company and the rest of the employees denied it.

Can't they send him the information he needs?
